Australian swimming champion and Commonwealth Games medalist Lorna Tonks was among a panel of experts taking part in the water safety event at Greenbank.

The free 'Summer Splash' event took place in February 2018 and was hosted by Mirvac and its community engagement team, Enriching Communities, aims to raise swim safety awareness for families.

“This is a great opportunity for the local community to hear from a range of experts actively involved in swim training and water safety not just here in Greenbank and Logan but across the state,” said Enriching Communities community engagement manager, Suzanne Guastini.

A representative from Queensland Surf Life Saving gave a CPR demonstration and members of Logan City Council spoke on pool compliance and how to ensure your pool area is child friendly.

The event was also a fun day out for the family, with a free giant water slide, water activities plus giveaways and prizes to be won.

There was also a water hose activity for the kids thanks to the Greenbank Rural Fire Brigade and a sausage sizzle hosted by Greenbank State School.
