Everleigh’s community proves major drawcard for buyers
Greenbank fitness trainer, Darren Pennisi, has credited Everleigh’s authentic and connected community with driving his decision to purchase a home here with his mother, Bernie Pennisi.
Darren says the strong friendships he built within Everleigh as a local fitness trainer really inspired the joint move.
“As Everleigh was still being developed, Suzanne from the community engagement team, @Enriching Communities Greenbank, reached out to me to run fitness classes onsite to help residents connect and promote health and wellness,” says Darren.
“Once I started running the weekly fitness classes through my business, Dazza Fitness, it didn’t take long for me to fall in love with Everleigh, the people here, and the future it offered,” he says.
Darren soon spoke to his mum about the prospect of the pair purchasing a lot together in the community.
“When Darren reached out to me about buying a lot together at Everleigh, I thought — why not?” says Bernie.
“It was a new estate in a great location, with two big shopping centres close by and a train station only 15 mins away. I also remembered the first time I visited Everleigh, loving the nature that surrounded it and how peaceful it was.
“When we went to the sales office to register our interest the team was very friendly and made the buying experience very easy.
“Since moving to Everleigh in 2020, the best part of living here is how active and friendly the community is, with free events and activities put on for residents every month.
“It’s also great as a mum to see Darren be a part of these activities with his business and the work he does in promoting fitness at Everleigh.”
Darren says outside of work, one of the reasons he loves living at Everleigh is the open green spaces and community.
“In my spare time, I love going for walks with Dexter, my three-year-old Bull Arab Cross, exploring the parklands, and seeing familiar faces along the way,” says Darren.
“In the future, I'm also excited about Everleigh’s planned wetlands and walking and cycling network.
“Another aspect I love about living here is the strong support network. It’s good knowing we have so many people me and mum can rely on. I’ve had many people attend my fitness classes, who are now good friends.
“If you’re new to Everleigh or live in the Greenbank area, I'd highly recommend attending the free community events as a way to get to know your neighbours better.”
