Five activities to do in and around Everleigh this December

From exploring hidden elf doors, to sightseeing Everleigh's colourful Christmas home displays and festive performances, there is plenty on offer for locals of all ages to enjoy in the community this December. 

Here are our top five activities in and around Everleigh that are sure to get you into the spirit of the season:

Everleigh Community Event

1. Seniors’ Christmas Trivia

If you’re a local senior, grab your family and friends and have a festive time at the Everleigh Seniors’ Christmas Trivia at Middle Green on Thursday, December 8, from 10am to 1pm. 

Hosted by our community engagement team, Enriching Communities Greenbank, the day will include a festive trivia game, morning tea, lucky door prizes and a very special Christmas roast.

2. City of Logan Christmas Carols

Celebrate the most magical time of the year at the City of Logan Christmas Carols at the Griffith University Logan Campus on Saturday, December 10, from 2pm to 8:30pm. 

The family-friendly event will include fireworks, a variety of delicious food, face painting, a gingerbread man decorating workshop, market stalls, $2 amusement rides and much more!

3. Everleigh Christmas Lights Competition

Everleigh’s annual Christmas Lights Competition is back!

Greenbank locals will be able to enjoy an evening walk or drive through the community to see the streets filled with colourful festive displays during judging week, which runs from Monday December 12 to Friday December 16, between 6:45pm and 9pm.

4. Nutcracker Ballet

Grab your picnic basket and take a drive from Greenbank to Orion Shopping Centre to watch a twilight performance of the Nutcracker ballet on Friday, December 23, from 4pm to 6pm. 

You and your family are sure to enjoy watching the Nutcracker Christmas Eve story unfold under the stars, with the Sugar Plum fairy and other loveable characters starring in the play.

There will also be pre-show entertainment for the kids, with local performers and Mrs Claus making guest appearances.

5. Everleigh Elf Trail and Parklands 

Grab your little ones and explore Everleigh’s magical elf trail in December.  Throughout Everleigh Park, Leaf Park, and the community garden laneway you will discover 17 enchanted doors – and you may even spot our resident elf, Erik, who we’ve heard lives by door number 7.

While you’re on your adventure, discover Everleigh’s ample green spaces, which feature a multipurpose sports wall, four-tower playground, five-way swing system and much more for families, locals, and dog owners to enjoy!
