Everleigh is already establishing a reputation as a beautiful and connected community - and there's still so much to come! Over the next decade, Everleigh and the surrounding Greater Flagstone Priority Development (PDA) are earmarked for significant growth, with new infrastructure and amenities to continue to evolve to meet the needs of the expanding population.
Here is a breakdown of just some of the major projects underway or planned for the area.
Schools
New schools are part of the exciting infrastructure developments coming to the area, with a new State Primary School within the Everleigh community leading the charge.
The serviced site for the new primary school has just officially been handed over by Everleigh developer Mirvac to the State Government. The new $66 million State primary school will open in time for the 2022 school year, great news for the many young families in the Everleigh, Greenbank and Greater Flagstone region. The new school will be within walking distance of most homes at Everleigh, meaning it is only ever a stroll, scoot or bike ride away for residents.
Also on the agenda for the region is a planned private primary school at Pub Lane, and a State secondary school, which is earmarked for a site 4km south-west of Everleigh. Both schools are in the planning stages.
Parklands
The next stage of parkland at Everleigh is coming soon and will be located in the new Kessels Park release. Work is already underway on the 5,000sqm green space, which will include sporting and play equipment, and is due to open in late 2020.
Open space forms an important part of the Everleigh community and, as the population continues to grow, additional parkland will be delivered for residents to enjoy. The Everleigh masterplan includes more than 25 hectares of regional sport and recreation parks, located centrally and linked to a network of pathways, cycle ways and roads. The regional sport and recreation park will also sit alongside the new State primary school, creating an active and healthy hub at the heart of the community.
Community Health Centre and Neighbourhood Retail Centre
Everleigh and Greenbank residents can also look forward to a new community health centre and neighbourhood retail centre. The developments are part of the Everleigh masterplan and will be delivered in future stages.
Transport Improvements
The first bus service connecting the Greater Flagstone Priority Development Area to the wider public transport network commenced late last year. The 535 service links the Greater Flagstone area with the Grand Plaza Shopping Centre in Brown Plains stopping at the Greenbank Shopping Centre and Greenbank RSL.
The bus line is part of the first stage of a 10-year public transport plan that will see more bus services introduced as demand grows.
Future projects earmarked by the State Government also include a potential train station located a short distance from the Everleigh community.
Other amenities
Under the Greater Flagstone PDA, the State Government has earmarked a District Centre about 6km from Everleigh, which is expected to include a range of community infrastructure such as a district community centre, performing arts centre, art gallery, indoor sports centre, swimming pool and urban fire and rescue station.
